Founded by Alana Hadid and Emily Perlstein in 2017, is the product of a mutual obsession between the former stylists and friends for the perfect denim jacket. All my siblings (Marielle, Gigi, Bella and Anwar), Anna Dello Russo, Everyone on our Staff. Tell us some of your favorite LA haunts (bars, bakeries, restaurants, galleries, beaches etc)? Marvin is my favorite restaurant, I love to walk around all the LA farmers markets, the Rosebowl Flea market, Roger Room for drinks and the place you can always find me is Petit Ermitage. If La Detresse Was a Drink What Would it Be? 100% Tequila Soda with a lot of limes. What is it like to work with one another? Emily is the ultimate Ying to my Yang, I know that things are taken care of and that she supports my creative vision. She is the fastest learner and the most proactive person I've ever met, within 12 hours of us deciding to start La Detresse she already had 10 meetings on the books, lawyers, manufacturers and PR. It's really an amazing situation to work so seamlessly with someone and also to truly be best friends, we love traveling together, we can flow easily from work to personal life and we learned really quickly how to integrate the two to make our bond stronger. I'm a lucky woman knowing that I've started a brand with her. MEET EMILY (La Detresse Founder). Describe La Detresse in 3 words: Playful, Unexpected, Rad. Who are the ultimate La Detresse style icons? Rihanna, Zoe Kravitz, Anna Della Russo. Tell us some of your favorite LA haunts (bars, bakeries, restaurants, galleries, beaches etc)? I am manifesting living in Malibu- BroadStreet Oyster (can't live without their lobster roll), Taverna Tony's (I could eat their dip on just about anything) Lucky's, Cafe Habana for drinks. If La Detresse Was a Drink What Would it Be? Tequila Blanco (preferably Casamigos) on the rocks with a splash of soda and fresh limes. What is it like to work with one another? There is never a dull moment, Alana makes me laugh and grounds me. For everything she can't do (invoices, fulfilling orders, anything excel related) she compliments in the best way for things that I am terrible at (instagram, our RING alarm, driving- I really dread driving) and everything totally creative in between . We have an amazing partnership and have built an awesome team, for that I am grateful.
